Serving the war-ravaged community of Batticaloa with free healthcare

Sri Sathya Sai Karuna Nilayam
The Sri Sathya Sai Karuna Nilayam, based in Batticaloa, is located on the east side of the island 320 Kms from Colombo, an area devastated by the 30-year long Sri Lankan civil war and the major Tsunami of 2004.
The war left more than 30,000 war widows behind. Due to the resulting poverty, medical and social services have been virtually non-existent. The Karuna Nilayam Foundation was formed to serve these communities.
